Thankful. Happy.
/I love Thanksgiving, a day filled with food, family, and festivities, and a day to express gratitude for all that we have. This year I feel exceptionally grateful for all of the wonderful things in my life because I have had a shift in my attitude and mindset. In the past I have tended to focused on all that I did not have or could not do. My heart and mind were soaked in negativity. I did not choose happiness. But now I find joy in each and every day, and for that I am thankful.
This change is largely a result of the fact that I am now living in a loving, supporting, and nurturing environment. I am surrounded by so many people who believe in me and genuinely want me to be successful, and this is uplifting and inspiring.
I am so thankful to be where I am today.
I am grateful to have my good health-physical, mental, and emotional.
I am thankful that I have the opportunity to chase my dreams and pursue my passion of competing in triathlons.
I greatly appreciate that so many people in my life are supporting me in this endeavor, from my friends and family, to my mentors, advisers and coach.
I am so very thankful that my family welcomed me back home with open arms.
I am grateful that I can look around me and be filled with delight and appreciation, because this is what brings true happiness.
A favorite TED Talk of mine features Brother David Steindal-Rast, a Benedictine monk who preaches that the secret of happiness is being grateful. If you have not listened to his lesson, I encourage you to check it out.
Happy Thanksgiving to you all. Be grateful.
